Game Summary

Tom Klauba and Dave Rosania delivered run-scoring singles in the bottom of the 8th as the Rail Splitters rallied to win the Fab 50 Senior Division Championship, 7-to-6. The Splitters swept the series, winning game one 11-to-4.

The Pipe Dreams trailed 5-2, but scored four unanswered run to take the lead in extra innings. Tom Barker singled to right with one out to ignite the rally. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Klauba singled sharply to center, scoring courtesy runner Gerry Oher, who raced past the stop sign by 3rd base coach, Tom Barker. Ted Ahr was intentionally walked to load the bases, and on a 3-1 count Dave Rosania hit a chopper that eluded 2nd baseman Clancy Evans. Game over.

Greg Kaczmarek pitched seven solid innings for the Splitters, and was aided by great defense. Rosania made three spectacular catches in center field, and catcher Bob Rosenberg threw out runners attempting to steal at 2nd and 3rd base.

The Pipe Dreams threatened in the 7th, loading the bases with one out. Ted Ahr robbed Alberto Garcia with a leaping catch behind 2nd base. His throw to 2nd base was too late, but Tom Klauba fired to 3rd base doubling off Justin Millner.
